Description
Sean Na'auao is a Slack Key guitarist and vocalist, composer and producer and has won Hawaii's prestigious Nā Hōkū Hanohano Awards multiple times including Island Contemporary Album of the Year for his popular “Fish and Poi.” He is and is one of the original members of the Mana’o Company. A local boy who has a large library of island and reggae music and of course the traditional Hawaiian mele. I have been lucky enough to know Sean for more than 20 years and I am proud of all his success in the music world. Recognized for his exceptional vocal ability, Sean is a mainstay in the Hawaii music scene. We are excited to have him in the Cooking Hawaiian Style kitchen this week with his rendition of Shoyu Chicken.
Instructions
In a large saucepan over medium-high heat; mix soy sauce, sugar, and juice. Bring to a rapid boil. Add chicken. Reduce heat; simmer 35- 40 minutes until chicken is cooked through. Optional to add crushed garlic and ginger. Serves 3-4.
